Introducing the AZ Mount Pro featuring "level and go" intuitive GOTO setup.

We call it "level and go", the term used to describe iOptron new AZ Mount Pro's simple setup routine. Using its built-in precision level indicator, the operator simply levels the mount and turns on the power; this capable computerized alt-azimuth telescope mount takes it from there. Utilizing the onboard 32 channel GPS receiver and built-in position and angular detection sensors; the AZ mount Pro calculates its global position as well as the telescope orientation. Automatically the mount slews the instrument to an easily identifiable bright object in the night sky. The user needs only confirm a bright object is in the center of the view, to activate tracking and GOTO functionality.

5 of 5 AZMP is perfect for my observing style December 16, 2020
Reviewer: SJ Pratt from 40°N, United States
I'm a strictly visual observer with a relatively poor knowledge of the skies.  A go-to mount that could support my 8" instrument with minimal set-up was essential.  And having the built-in battery was a huge factor in choosing this mount.

I've owned mine for almost six months and given the constraints on my opportunities (weather, and others) have used it quite a bit.  Operating it is enough different from my lighter SynScan-based mount that it took some getting used, and it has some initial alignment quirks (leveling is crucial!)

Overall I have been very satisfied and would highly recommend this mount for telescopes up-to 12kg, (8kg for AP work.)

5 of 5 AZ Mount Pro - Simple to use February 5, 2019
Reviewer: CESDewar from Fredericksburg , TX United States
This is a very nice mount for a quick setup. The Alignment is especially nice - once properly leveled, the target has always appeared in the field of View of a low-power eyepiece. This is nice if view of Polaris is blocked! Tracking is more than adequate for visual use.
The built-in catalog - just adequate. BUT it is very easy to connect wirelessly to my Android Phone running SkySafari PRO which makes using the mount an absolute pleasure since once I have located an item in SS, I just hit GOTO, and there it is - so very highly recommended if you use a Sky Program on your phone. I have no trouble using this with my C-8 (using CWT) and 92mm refractor (w/out CWT).
Lithium battery remains charged for a considerable time, so no problem trying to remember to charge it hours before an observing session (and never had it die on me during even a long observing session with much activity). I use it on a very stable TPOD-90 tripod rather than Ioptron's std. tripod to save space and weight.

5 of 5 Functional Review March 14, 2017
Reviewer: Andrew Kelley from Somewhere in the USA at night
One star alignment on Sirius
Goto Orion
Goto Rigel
Goto Moon
All nicely centered. I had to stop because it was getting late. Orion is west of the local meridian by the time it gets dark enough for viewing.
The mount is easy to set up and use. The keypad works well. I look forward to the next good viewing night. I'm hoping for this Saturday.

5 of 5 Az Mount Pro/Mini Pier March 1, 2017
Reviewer: Andrew Kelley from Somewhere in the USA
The mechanicals:
Hefty, well made little chunk of equipment.
The Mini Pier took a bit of debugging to mount on the tripod formerly used for my iEQ45, but eventually worked out well. I guess written instructions would present some difficulty due to the many possible combinations of mounts, tripods, etc.

The only minus is the screws provided for the AZ MOunt Pro. The just aren't the proper screw to use for leveling the mount. Neither end will fit properly with the base of the mount. The mount could slip and have some unpleasant results.

Star knobs have to be ordered separately. If a set of star knobs were provided it would put a real polish on the experience of acquiring an AZ Mount Pro or acquiring a Mini Pier for the AZ Mount Pro.

Functional review to follow after the first clear night or a partial moon.
:)
