This iOptron Electronic Automatic Focuser (iEAF) is designed for both Crayford and Rack-and-Pinion focusers. It is powered by a 5V USB port. The focuser is ASCOM compatible and will work with most planetarium and imaging software. It also can be adjusted manually by pressing a button on the focuser.

I love this Auto Focuser. Has a smooth operation and works great. It is so very solid and the craftsmanship shows on it. The kit it comes with to mount it is very well thought out and makes it simpler to install. iOptron did their home work on this one and the performance is there. I have one of the other makers( Red one ) focusers and while it is OK it is not in the same class as this focuser. The iOptron install kit is better , with solid parts to work with and its motor operation is smoother. I also very much like the in out control buttons on the back and much prefer them over the cheap plastic hand controller you have to plug in each time for the competitors red focuser. Over all iOptron gives us a second but better option with auto focusers now. I'll be buying another soon.

I had some issues with this at first, The unit wasn't reporting position or temperature and therefore wouldn't work with N.I.N.A or Sharpcap for autofocus, etc.
Here's where iOptron's customer service stepped up to the plate. They reached out to me with a firmware update that fixed all of the issues I encountered.
Now this electronic focusser works fantastically well. It's quick, repeatedly accurate and works perfectly with N.I.N.A's automated focussing. I no longer have to freeze outside while trying to get my focus dialled in. No more discovering half of my data is useless because of focus drift either!
The unit is beautifully minimalist, with just a USB port and two small buttons for manual control. Build quality is excellent and everything you need is in the box- even hex keys.
A great little autofocusser at an excellent price.
